"I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High". Psalm 82.6
Welcome to the God class! Psalm 82.6 is a text that gives a descriptive name for the function God gave to man in Genesis 1.26, to have dominion over every element of nature and creation. I hear people say satan is the prince of the world and therefore has the power to rule the earth. While that is true (though not completely), satan is the prince of the world, but we are gods, not just on earth but also seated with Christ in the heavenly places, far above principalities and powers, (Ephesians 2.5-6), and for all I know, princes are subject to, and below gods, not the other way round!

There is this measure of confidence that comes with knowing your place in Christ, knowing the authority you have as a Christian, and walking in the consciousness of the fact that you are a child of God. Just like the children of Barack Obama during his presidential regime carried an aura of respect, honor, and authority because they understood the authority their father had and the privileges that came with it, that is how every Christian should carry themselves. We as Christians ought to bask in that confidence and privilege that comes with the power in the name, Jesus. It is not a question of what we have to do to earn that privilege or some sacrifice or posture we have to give or be in to exercise the authority we have in the name of Jesus. It is a free gift from God to mankind without any efforts from man, and all we have to do is believe in God and the finished work of Christ on the cross that guaranteed our salvation and redemption.
As much as being children of God comes with certain privileges that unbelievers don't get to enjoy, there are also restrictions that come with that position. It is called discipline. In the Kingdom of God, discipline draws the boundaries and gives an enclosure for protection, integrity, and consecration. Again, like the example of Obama's, although his children understood that they could get whatever they want by reason of their dad's position, they also understood that they wouldn't get away with doing certain things or being in certain places because that would cause a dent in the family's reputation or their dad's career, hence,. As much as they wanted to do certain things of their age, they couldn't afford to ruin their family, hence they gave in to discipline, accountability, and submission. Discipline as children of God doesn't put us in a cage or bondage. Rather, it gives a provision for responsibility and growth. Discipline gives a confinement to earn and retain respect.
You can allow people insult you because of Jesus, but never allow people insult Jesus because of you, or insult the Jesus in you.
I found this quote about five years ago and that changed the tragejectory of my self-awareness in respect to being a Christian. I realised that as a Christian and a god here on earth, I mirror Jesus to the people of the world. My actions and words speak the loudest, and though I might have good intentions for doing a thing, the people watching me will not 'judge' me by my good intentions but how they interpret my actions. I understand that even though I feel okay doing certain things because they don't define who I am (as 1 Corinthians 8 explained), I should be careful of doing those things around people with weaker faith and baby Christains who are yet to spiritually mature.
However, regardless of how much I want to do that I can't do because of the discipline that comes with being an ambassador of Christ on earth, there are so many benefits that come with that privilege. I understand that as a child of God, I am not only a god here on earth, I am a joint heir with Christ. I have equal Kingdom rights as Christ does. I have the same power as Christ because Philippians 2.9-11 tells me that Jesus has been given a name above every other name, a name that carries power above principalities and powers, a name every creature, in heaven and on earth bows to, and I carry that same power in me, in the person of the Holy Spirit, living inside of me and working through me, for me, for others, and for Kingdom advancement. One of the perks of being in the God class is being seated with Christ Jesus in the Heavenlies, far above principalities and dark powers that rule the world. I have power over sickness and diseases, power of the nature of sin and its tempatations and I have been blessed with the grace of God to walk me through the struggles and difficulties of life. As a child of God, I don't have to do life on my own or struggle with its tantrums when I have a big God, who is a good Father and is always available and active in my life.
Being a god, just like my Father in Heaven, I am born to win, I am born to reign in life. I am not an ordinary person, I am an extraordinary individual with the extraordinary God of the universe living big in me. I am destined for greatness. As long as the devil and the powers of death couldn't stop the resurrection of Jesus, no demon or devil can stop me! No one pressures God, so you can't pressure me. I know who I am, I know whose I am, and I live in the consciousness of my identity and heritage in Christ. I don't chase, I attract. I don't beg, I build. No matter the conditions of this life, I will make it, and I will make it big! I am seated in God class, far above demon level!🎉
