I'm sure you got excited reading the title! Waiting to be gassed up because you believe or rather, want to believe that you are about to enter a new season, full of abundance, positivity, excellence, new Kingdom assignments, breathe of fresh air, and everything else we have always dreamed of. Generally, most people love the idea of new things, whether they are carnal things like new shoes, clothes, bags, cars, new material things, or spiritual things such as new blessings, open doors, breakthroughs, and the likes.

Season of the New is simply entering a new phase of life, with a different Kingdom assignment for that season, another stage of growth and spiritual development, increased responsibilities, with the perks of breakthroughs, favor, blessings, anointing, a more intimate relationship with God, with a better understanding of what happened in your life in the past season. One thing people forget to mention about getting into new seasons of life is the challenges that come with them. One minute, it is like you have everything figured out, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will do just fine. The next minute, you cannot understand how your life spiraled to a point where you don't know what actually is going on. You think you do but you are just as clueless as your next person beside you who doesn't know what is going on. For a moment, you do not feel like yourself anymore, like this is not who you used to be, or at least who you were just at the start of the season. You want to stand outside your life to check what is going on, to view things from a different perspective, but you really can't tell what is going on because you can't see it.

Entering a new season comes with a lot. But the mistake we tend to make most times is trying to enter The New without finishing our assignments from the previous season and picking all the lessons we need from that season. Every season comes with its own experiences that have lessons in them. God allows us go through certain experiences to teach us what we need to learn, both for that season and for future references. One big thing the Holy Spirit teaches us in every season is building patience and endurance. We have to wait for the results, because many times, we do not get what we wanted immediately. To be patient with God, we will need STAYING POWER. Waiting on God can be quite difficult, because truth is, we do not know His timing, we just have to trust it, and many times, trusting God's timing can seem difficult, because to us, we are running out of time, but God is never late.

Stop rushing into the new when you've not finished the assignments of the now! God doesn't like half-baked assignments!

Stop making the mistake of rushing into The New when you aren't done with the old yet. Stop letting the excitement and butterflies of entering a new season cloud your judgement. As exciting as it sounds, you must finish your assignments of the previous season before heading onto the next. Stop leaving yourself half-baked. James 1.2-4 says "Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way".

Stay where God called you, finish all the tasks you were given, and don't try to move into another phase, even if you have received a vision of what it looks like or the things it would come with. Receiving a vision doesn't mean receiving a go-ahead order. God might be benevolent enough to let you in on the plan He has for your life and what the future holds for you, but don't try to rush into the future because you have seen what it is like. Wait for God's timing, wait for His go-ahead order. Do not rush into what you think you want. You will regret it sooner or later. Let James 1.2-4 be a constant reminder whenever you are about to rush into a New Season, especially when you know you ain't ready yet!
